After writing about using vertical lines to visually create a slimmer silhouette, I thought I should let you know there are a couple exceptions to this rule.

Firstly, when a vertical line is off center our body is effectively divide into two unequal sections. The smaller section makes the larger section appear even larger by comparison. 

Secondly, you need to be careful of vertical lines on stretch fabric, if the fabric easily distorts it will not create a straight line.
