I love beautiful fabrics and often spend time teaching clients the benefits of choosing the right fabric for each season. With the warmer months approaching the best way to stay cool is with natural fibres, in particular cottons and linens.
What fabrics to avoid during the heat?
Polyester, viscose or rayon, they are manmade fibres which are often floaty & light but don’t breathe, allowing moisture to build up and become uncomfortable to wear.
Also beware of silk, although a natural fibre, it doesn’t absorb water so the fabric will crinkle where the moisture is held. It is great at retaining body odour, so consider the shape of the garment you are buying!
