Perfect Pairing

Garments in neutral colours are the foundation of a functioning wardrobe. They are the hues you don’t see on a traditional colour wheel as they lack pigment, making them the perfect pairing for a variety of shades, as well as other neutrals.

The best neutral colour combinations are the ones that are less conventionally paired together, think grey and camel. This unexpected mix creates a look that’s considered and effortlessly chic, and yet another way to maximise your clothing cost per wear.

Here are my tips for wearing grey and camel.

Everyone can wear grey & camel, the key is finding the right undertone for your natural complexion. Those with warm colouring look best in yellow tones, whereas cool complexions are complimented by blue tones.

Consider colour contrast and wear lighter colours on the parts of the body you love & darker colours on the areas that make you feel less confident.

Use a column of colour to visually elongate and slim your silhouette. Remembering, a darker inner layer with a lighter outer layer is a great way to visually disguise a tummy.

Or a darker outer layer paired with a lighter inner layer is best if your hips, bottom or thighs are the areas you want to draw the least attention to.

If your pairing colours that are similar shades, use texture to create definition and interest in your outfit.

Wear tonal footwear to tie a grey and camel outfit together.

Use accessories to create an intentional look, think silver and grey for those with cool undertones or gold and camel for those with a warm complexion.

Grey and camel separates are the perfect pairing for denim.
